Sport-Travel Increases Cyber Security

In September of 2018, Sport-Travel learned of a possible data security incident involving credit and debit card data for some of Sport-Travel’s customers.  Sport-Travel immediately hired third-party forensic experts to assist with its investigation.  While it could not be confirmed, it is possible that customers’ credit and debit card data was compromised after an intruder gained access to Sport-Travel’s website and inserted malicious code searching for credit and debit card information.  Sport-Travel has no reports of fraud or misuse of any customer information, however, it is in an abundance of caution that we are issuing this notice.  Since the incident was discovered, the website has been secured.

Although we have no reports of misuse of anyone’s information as a result of this incident, we understand that the potential exposure of your name and credit or debit card number can be troubling.  Please keep an eye on your credit or debit card statements for the next 12-24 months and report any suspected fraud to your financial institution immediately.

We want to assure you that we have taken steps to prevent a similar event from occurring in the future and to protect the privacy and security of your information.  These steps include conducting a complete security review of our website and internal systems, changing passwords for all of our systems, and instituting new policies and procedures to protect customer information.
