St. Thomas Thunder Ringette Tournament Coaches Pacakage

This tournament is an ORA Sanctioned Event and all ORA &  Ringette Canada rules will
apply. Exception: There will be no overtime in round-robin games; each team will receive one point for a tie.

  • SHOT CLOCKS: The 30-second shot clock will be used to Open Divisions only.
  • GAME LENGTH: All games will be two (2) periods, 15 minutes in length.
  • NO CURFEWS: However thegameclockwill continue to run on games having a seven(7) goal spread in  the second period. See Tournament Rules number nine (9).
  • ACCOMMODATIONS: Contact: CSTT - you will be connected to them directly via the registration process.
  • REFEREES: If youhaveany referees interestedinofficiatingintheSt. Thomas Tournament, contact Barry Lamont, Referee-in-Chief by email: barry.lamont@gknsintermetals.com.
  • CODEOFCONDUCT: Any person who interferes with the game or verbally abuses or harasses an official, player of benchstaff will be asked to leave the playing area and not to return. The HEAD COACH will be notified by an on-ice official to remove the person. If the person refuses to leave the arena playing area after a reasonable period of time, the game will be called and the team that the person is associated will forfeit the game.

Tournament Rules

  1. 1. The St. Thomas Ringette Tournament is sanctioned by the ORA, therefore, all ORA rules will be followed unless otherwise specified.
  2. 2. All members of thebenchstaff must signthegames sheet 20minutes prior to game time.
  3. 3. Teams must be ready to go on the ice FIFTEEN MINUTES PRIOR TO THE SCHEDULED GAME TIME. Failure to ice a team within five(5) minutes of notification to begin the game may result in forfeiture of the game.
  4. Two (2) minutes will be allowed for on-ice warm-up for all games. Time will commence when the Zamboni doors are closed. Noncompliance will result in a delay of game penalty. Please do your part to keep the games and schedule on time.
  5. In the event of a goalie injury or the goalie receives a major or misconduct penalty, a maximum of five(5) minutes will be allowed to replace the goalie with an eligible team-mate.
  6. The 30-second shot clock will be used for Open Divisions.
  7. Please see the posted Tie Breaking Rules for the tournaments tie-breaking formula.
  8. Games tied at the end of regulation play will be handled as follows:
    1. Round Robin Games will remain tied with each team receiving one point.
    2. Championship Games - Fifteen minutes stop time, sudden victory periods will be played until there is a winner.
  9. In the event the goal spread of a game reaches seven(7) or greater, the clock will be set on running time during the second period only. The clock will revert tostop time if the goal spread is reduced to six (6) or less.
  10. Flooding of the ice between games may be skipped, solely at the discretion of the Tournament Convenor, if the schedule is behind.
  11. Player substitutions can occur for missing goalies and for missing skaters. The total number of skaters cannot exceed 10 skaters including substitutes.

All medal presentations will take place off ice in a designated area.
